In order to treat your allergy symptoms, we first need to know what is causing them. At Midwest Allergy & Asthma, we can test for all types of allergies through a series of exams. Once the exact cause of your symptoms has been determined we will create an individualized treatment plan that
works with your type of allergy and lifestyle.
How Allergies Are Treated
1Setup An Appointment
In order to treat your stuffy nose, sneezing and itchy, watery eyes, we first need to know what is causing your allergy symptoms. We can help you find relief. Contact us today to schedule your first appointment.
2Allergy Testing
There are three common forms of testing for allergies, which include:
- The most common is the skin prick test which involves placing a small drop of an allergen extract under your skin with a plastic tipped device.
- The next step may include intradermal skin testing which injects an allergen directly under the top layer of skin.
- If necessary, a blood test can be ordered to measure allergen-specific IgE in your blood.
3Allergy Treatments
Once the exact cause of your symptoms has been determined, we will create an individualized treatment plan that works with your type of allergy and lifestyle. Options include:
- Environmental controls
- Medications
- Immunotherapy (allergy shots or allergy tablets-available for select allergens)
Take the first step toward allergy-free living. Schedule an appointment today.
