Every baby deserves to be welcomed with “Congratulations.” That simple idea is at the heart of Jack’s Basket, a Minnesota nonprofit that celebrates babies born with Down syndrome.
What Jack’s Basket does
When a family learns their baby has Down syndrome, Jack’s Basket sends a basket filled with gifts, encouragement, and resources. Many are delivered by a parent volunteer who has a child with Down syndrome and remembers those first days. Baskets are always free to families.
Since 2014, Jack’s Basket has celebrated more than 14,000 babies in all 50 states and more than 70 countries. The organization also trains medical providers to share a Down syndrome diagnosis with accuracy and compassion.
Why it matters to us
At Midwest ENT Specialists, we have the privilege of caring for many children with Down syndrome and getting to know their families. We see every day how much it means when parents feel supported and connected from the very beginning.
In honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we are proud to support Jack’s Basket with a donation this October.
How you can be part of it
• Request a basket. If you know a family with a baby under one year old diagnosed with Down syndrome, you can request a basket for them.
• Give or volunteer. Find ways to help on the Jack’s Basket website.
• Share their stories. Follow @jacksbasket and help spread the word this month.
To the families who trust us with their children’s care: thank you. We are better because of you.
