At Midwest Hearing, we believe everyone deserves to stay connected to the people and moments they love. Hearing technology has come a long way in just the past few years, so if you’ve had your hearing aids for a while, now is a great time to see what’s new. And when you’re ready to upgrade, your old devices can help someone else hear better, too, through our partnership with the Minnesota Lions Hearing Foundation.
What’s New in Hearing Technology
Today’s hearing aids are smarter, smaller, and easier to live with than ever. If your devices are a few years old, here are some of the advances you may be missing:
- Crisper sound clarity, even in noisy restaurants and busy rooms
- Longer battery life, so you spend less time charging
- Portable charging cases that make life on the go easier
- Seamless streaming of phone calls, music, and TV from your favorite devices
- Smarter noise management that helps you follow group conversations
- Sleeker, more discreet designs
Every person’s hearing and lifestyle are different, so the best way to find out what’s possible is a quick check-up with your audiologist. Our Doctors of Audiology can review how your current hearing aids are working, check whether your hearing has changed, and walk you through options that fit your needs and budget.
Give Your Old Hearing Aids a Second Life
Many people tuck old hearing aids into a drawer after they upgrade. Those devices can still make a real difference.
Midwest Hearing partners with the Minnesota Lions Hearing Foundation, whose Affordable Hearing Aid Program helps Minnesotans with hearing loss and limited financial resources get hearing aids at prices they can afford. The Foundation collects used hearing aids and sells them to manufacturers for their repair services. That money, combined with reduced rates from manufacturers and hearing care providers, helps purchase new hearing aids for people who might otherwise go without.
In other words, the hearing aids sitting in your drawer can help someone take their first step back into a world of sound.
