We are pleased to announce that Midwest is now offering virtual/online appointments from the safety and comfort of your own home.We have been working hard to expand access to our patients and offer a more convenient alternative to coming into one of our clinics. We now have a robust telemedicine program up and running.Telemedicine is now available! You will be able to consult with a physician from the comfort of your own home through a virtual visit.
What is telemedicine?
A telemedicine appointment is a medical visit performed over your computer, tablet or phone rather than in person with a provider on the other end. You will still be able to discuss concerns live with your doctor, get prescriptions and ask questions like you would in a regular medical visit.While all visits will start as virtual appointments, some issues will still require an in-person evaluation. Because of this, after your initial telemedicine visit, you may be asked to come into clinic at a time that is convenient for you.
How do I schedule my virtual appointment?
Call us at 651-641-6134 to schedule your virtual appointment(NOTE: Some existing appointments will be transitioned to virtual appointments and you may be contacted regarding this.)Prior to your visit, you will be sent an invite via email for your appointment.
What to expect at my virtual appointment?
Telemedicine has been shown to be an effective way to provide care. Your doctor will listen to your symptoms in detail and ask further questions. Certain parts of a physical exam can be done via telemedicine however if a more detailed physical exam is necessary (i.e. looking in the ear) after an initial course of treatment, you may be asked to come into clinic’
How do I access my virtual appointment?
Ensure you have internet access and a device with a camera and audio (preferably a computer or tablet, but a phone will also work).At your scheduled appointment time, click the link you received via email from a device that has internet access, a camera and audio.Our visits are through the Zoom Telehealth platform.
