You will be given post-surgical instructions, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled for you. Either your doctor or your anesthesiologist must approve your discharge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be sure to make arrangements to have someone drive you home after your surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Refrain from strenuous activity.<\/li><li>For your safety, you should not be alone for 24 hours because reaction time, balance, and judgment may be impaired.<\/li><li>Gradually increase your diet from liquids to solids as tolerated, unless otherwise instructed.<\/li><li>Contact your physician if you have any:<\/li><li>Fever over 102 degrees<\/li><li>Persistent vomiting<\/li><li>Large amount of bleeding or drainage<\/li><li>Severe pain not relieved by pain medication<\/li><li>IV site may be sore and tender, apply warm packs. If soreness persists for 2 days or becomes worse, call the surgery center or your physician.<\/li><li>Following any general or intravenous anesthesia, or if you are on any pain medication, avoid alcoholic beverages, driving motor vehicles, or operating hazardous equipment for 24 hours.<\/li><li>If complications, call your physician and he or she will advise you if further treatment is necessary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For severe concerns or changes in patients condition, go to the nearest emergency room.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After your surgery, our thoughtful nursing staff in the recovery area will care for you until you are ready to go home.
