You can also read the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/about\/prevention.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fabout%2Fprevention-treatment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDC\u2019s Steps to Prevent Illness<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.state.mn.us\/people\/handhygiene\/wash\/fsgermbuster.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See easy tips for handwashing from the Minnesota Department of Health.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mwent.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/covid-vaccine-questions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See Midwest Allergy &amp; Asthma team&#8217;s answers to common COVID-19 Vaccine questions.<\/a>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Midwest Patients:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are seeing patients at all three of our clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What we are doing:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Implemented social distancing measures in clinic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced cleaning measures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Masks are optional.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional PPE will be worn by both physicians and other providers for certain procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We are screening all individuals for COVID-like symptoms at the time of scheduling and upon their arrival.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We are following relevant guidelines from the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All patients have the option of waiting in their car and Midwest Allergy &amp; Asthma shot patients are being asked to wait in their car post injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We are offering virtual appointments from the safety and comfort of your own home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Surgeries:<\/strong>&nbsp;Here is what you can expect when having surgery at the Midwest Surgery Center (MWSC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MWSC has implemented changes as outlined by the CDC and MDH to mitigate risk exposure of staff and patients to COVID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Masks are optional.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will not be performing surgery on patients with a known history of COVID or any history of exposure to a person with COVID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patients and drivers are welcome to wait in the waiting room or lobby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Testing is not required unless you present with symptoms, we will do a rapid test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two consents will be required to complete. First, a surgical consent that indicates you understand what procedure you are having, the possible risks and had an opportunity to ask questions and are okay with moving forward with surgery. Second, a COVID consent indicates that you understand the risks involved having surgery during the COVID pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please do not come to clinic if you have any new onset illness that involves fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell or loss of taste.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a rapidly evolving situation and recommendations are changing quickly. You can trust we are doing our best to navigate this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can I help protect myself and others?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are simple everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
